CDMA Mobile Phones

Spectrum Technology Spread From CDMA Phones Employs

by Cecep SA

CDMA is Code Division Multiple Access, a cellular technology that competes with GSM technology for dominance in the cellular world. It was originally developed by Qualcomm and was later enhanced by Ericsson. CDMA phones are characterized by high capacity small cell radius, employing spread spectrum technology and a coding system. In summary, we can say that CDMA is a form of spread spectrum signaling.

For CDMA implementations there are many terms used. The original which was defined by Qualcomm was known as IS-95. It was subsequently revised by the standard EN-2000 (CDMA 2000). All the major media companies around the world like Nokia, Samsung, LG, Motorola etc., use the CDMA cellular network. The added advantage of CDMA phones, it can be used as a USB modem on Mac OS X.

Today there are different and exciting variations on CDMA phones. Now we cdma2000 and its variants as EV 1X, 1xEV-DO, and MC 3X. They refer to the alternative of using a 1.25 MHz channel 3X uses 5 MHz channel

Add more and more facilities and additions have been introduced such as:

Sprint has launched phones in CDMA Mobile Cinema

ABC News Live TV programming in the U.S. smartphones

China Unicom has launched dual-mode GSM CDMA Phones

Ericsson MTN South Africa 3G CDMA contract

QUALCOMM tests Assisted-GPS in CDMA

Lucent to support CDMA at 450 MHz

Nokia to supply the expansion of the WCDMA 3G network to MTC

1xECDMA CDMA 1xEV-DO deployments grow

CDMA phones include very precise time signals (usually referred to a GPS receiver in the cell base station), so cell phone CDMA-based clocks are an increasingly popular type of radio clock for use in computer networks. The main advantage of using CDMA cell phone signals for reference clock purposes is that it works better inside buildings, thus often eliminating the need to mount a GPS antenna outside a building.

CDMA phones have the facility of international roaming globally. With this service, you can expect your phones around the world to work with all services. Regional, national or international roaming are several elements that are necessary for the CDMA roaming to be facilitated, as elements of CDMA roaming business, the technical characteristics of service providers of roaming services, including transport and application roaming carrier maintenance.

CDMA phones have certain characteristics such as the message of the narrowband signal, multiplied by the spread of broadband signal pseudonoise code and each user has their own code or pseudonoise (PN) number.
